New house in Setia Alam
Some time last year, my parents bought a new house in Setia Alam.
Now, it is time for us to move in! Or rather to get everything in place so that we can move in as soon as possible.
We went to the house on Saturday to get some measurements done (I sure did measure a lot of stuff in my new room!
) and my uncle’s family decided to join us there.

Kona’s room (yes, I’m jealous of her windows… and the toilet too!).

Anyway, my cousin Alifus had claimed the store room under the stairs (Harry Potter, anyone?) as his own ‘room’ in our new house.

Alifus’ room.

Since he saw me measuring stuff around the house, he couldn’t resist having a go at it too!

Meanwhile, Mae was busy playing gardener outside.

In the afternoon, a (future) neighbour gave us a visit. Actually, they just dropped by to say hi but we invited them in.

After they left, we went furniture hunting. After going to 6 or 7 furniture shops, I finally decided on one bedroom set which cost me RM6600 (including a RM1800 mattress. Damn, I didn’t know mattresses can be so expensive!). Kona got herself a new bed but Mama and Ba’ah didn’t buy anything.
Today, we went looking for lights. I decided on one set of lights at the 3rd lighting shop we went to. Again, Mama and Ba’ah didn’t buy anything (they wanted to buy what I called the ‘mentos’ lights but there were too many defects they decided to cancel the purchase).
Much to my parents’ envy, my room is almost ready now. I have to go curtain (fabric only as Mama would do all the sewing
) and bedspread hunting next. I wonder if I have the time.
Money is definitely going to be a little bit tight for me for the next few months as I’ve promised my parents to pay for my own room.
I just hope the total damage wouldn’t exceed RM10000.
